A patch Test is a test done on a small area of your skin to test products on for allergies.
This is particualy important when you are using false lashes to test the glue that will be used.
Or skin care products that you are not used to.
Or when you have a brow Tint done.
For these, you are required to have a patch test.
How does this work?
A small area as close to the face as possible usually behind the ears (where it isn't too obvious), or inner wrists, will have a pea size amount of product tested.
A small cotton wool and/or plaster, skin tape will be used over the product/s tested.
This is left on for 48 hours to test for any kind of reaction.
The reason why 48 hours is recommend as it can take 48 hours for a reaction to surface on the skin.
Signs to look out for but not limited to:
-
Rash on the area
-
Heat or prickly sensation in and around the area
-
Open skin
-
Feeling nauseous or sick
-
Numbness in or around the area
If you experience signs of a reaction please contact your GP as soon as possible, stating the product/s used, and the where the test was done, and the ingredients. This is stated on your Patch test card.
please let me now as soon as you can that you have had a reaction.
What is a patch Test? And do I have to have one?
What are your terms for under 16's?
For minors having makeup done either for weddings, or for prom makeup, consent for the parent or legal guardian of the child/children must be obtained first.
This will be sent to the person placing the booking and the responsibility of that person to hand to the parent/s or legal guardian/s of the child/children who wish to have makeup done. The parent/s or legal guardian/s will be required to sign part of the contract under 'Minors' before the contract is sent to me and booking is confirmed.
If a minor is having makeup done both the contract and the 'Minor Parent/ guardian consent' must be submitted to me before the confirmation of the booking is made.
I take makeup for minors seriously and therefore the 2 forms are must to be signed and dated for makeup for minors.
For prom makeup there must be an adult over the age of 18, present when the child/Children are having their makeup done.
If the parent or legal guardian can't be present during the makeup application, I signed note to say who will be attending must be submitted before.
For weddings, at least one adult in the wedding party must be present at all times during the makeup application.
Please see Terms & Conditions under Minors for more information
